Arran / Glasgow / Edinburgh

Intro

We had a very pleasant stay in the Lamlash Bay Hotel - in Lamlash Bay.

It's a great setting and they gave us a lovely room overlooking Lamkash Bay.

Unfortunately they were unwilling to 'enable' EV charging, which clearly admit is about concerns for their wiring.  Whilst that may have been inconvenient (our first refusal on this trip) - it has to be accepted.  My only issue with our host was that they would only offer breakfast from 08.30!  Considering the morning ferry leaves at 08.25 - that was a bit inflexible, for guests with journeys to make!

So we made an early start on Wed, as Broddick's Rapid Charger had been u/s on the evening before.    I called Charge-your-car (by Skype), but they were not optimistic that the fault could be cleared remotely.  However, on the day (to our great relief) Charge-your-Car had done their magic and we were able to get 30+mins 'on the hook' before catching the ferry to Ardrossan!

First Stop

Our first scheduled stop is at the SSE Hydro Centre in Glasgow, where we will meet up with some supporters and hopefully have a photo-call!

Second Stop

Tourist Trail Downtown Glasgow

Our 3rd and final stop, will mark the end of the 'Highland Phase' of this trip!  We will night-stop at the Premier Inn, near Edinburgh Airport and start cleaning it up for the two motors hows: Greenfleet 2014 and Evolution 2014.  EV Matters feels privileged to have been allocated (FOC) a place in the Main Exhibition Hall and right by the Mitsubishi stand and only 20ft away from the Tesla stand!

Last but not least

Highland Charge 2014 is being funded by my wife and I, as our mark of gratitude to those servicemen (and servicewomen) who are having to pay a heavy price for injuries sustained, whilst doing duty on behalf of us all

Those of you who have enjoyed sharing our experience may feel suitably moved and may wish to make a gesture similar to our own.  However, please do not send any money to us (or EV Matters Ltd). We have asked Help for Heroes to create an ability to make payments directly and privately online!  You can pay by any of the normal credit, or debit cards and the ubiquitous PayPal, is also on offer.

All payments above £10 will appear on the "Highland Charge - Role of Honour"; however you can of course (during the payment process) elect to remain anonymous!
