Doncaster to Edinburgh in a Day - Day 3

Travelling through Yorkshire has always been a challenge for EVs - North and South Yorkshire CCS completely missed the boat on the Plugged-in-Places Scheme.  Yorkshire has been described as an EV Black Hole.  We couldn't use Wetherby and were therefor forced to route via York.  York has been my bete noire trying to get to Whitby and I spend hours after midnight waiting for Waitrose 13 amp Chargemaster to deliver enough uumph to cross the moors.

I had already ruled out detours to Z-Car nr Hull and the duty visit to family in Whitby, so my wife and co-driver had been asked to come to Middlesbrough.  At least my route would be a direct line N-bound on the A19.  A charge a the York Outlet Mall was the lesser of the evil, but it did take 2.5 hours, which I could barely afford.

The Middlesbrough pickup went fine (with 5 mins of ETA) and withing 15 mins were were picking up a Rapid Charge @ Wynyard and we were soon on the A1 heading for Gateshead:

PLACE HOLDER - no time to complete - must drive on!  Back soon!

Scotland's first charger and it touch-and-go to get here!  In short range BEV like the Mitsu you run into range issues after 40 miles.  We achieved a range defciit of 6 miles before the downslope gave us enough to make Jedburgh!
