Edinburgh - GreenFleet 2014 and Evolution 2014

Intro  - Being fleshed out!
There is quite a long story about how we became to appear in in the twin Motor Shows at the Royal Highland Showground, Ingleston Edinburgh.  Half the story starts with the previous Highland Charge, in 2013, which raised a good level of awareness for the potential of EV Eco-tourism and enjoyed some tacit encouragement from Transport Scotland, which tranlated to 'doors being opened' and services being given by several Scottish local authorities!  Indeed Highland Charge would simply have been impossible without the willingness of Border, Fife and Moray Regional Councils + the Dundee City Council - to make their charging infrasturucture available!  So when we 'floated' the idea of Highland Charge 2014 - we got encouragment from both Transport Scotland and the Energy Saving Trust.  They further suggested that if we could have space at these two significant Scottish Motor Events - if we could vary our dates to coincide.  However, what our two Govt agencies were not aware of, was that the event sponsors have worked with our WAVE partners Green Motorsport and had offered us exhibition space through that route!

So we elected to extend our route by taking in the Western Isles and were able to arrive with a 'good stry to tell'!

Believe it or not thers is a further twist to the tale.  As explained in earlier post, this trip is being done at the expense of my wife and I - as a fund raiser for Help-for-Heroes!  It transpires that the show is to be opened by Keith Brown (MSP), the Transport Minister in the Scottish Government - who has a further role as Minister for Veterans!

These motor shows became a "must do'!
