Isle of Islay - R&R - "A Wee Dram Here - and a Wee Dram there"! (Updated)

Intro

Today (Mon) we will be 'chilling out' on the Isle of Islay, the southernmost of the Inner Hebrides - and known as the 'Queen of the Hebrides'!  Its the first 2 night stop since Lossiemouth (family time) and it only happened once before that in Edinburgh!

So I have to point our that spending time is Islay will always present a problem - for anyone over 18!  certainly we got waylaid more that once, today and the secret is in the photos below!

The day started well enough with some blogging and other admin - but once we crossed the step of teh hotel door the slide started!  You've got to recognise that Islay is the undisputed epicentre for the tasting of Single Malt Whisky!  There are nine major distilleries on the island and its impossible not to succumb to the temptation.  Of course its not done for another reason that a good natured gesture to our hosts on the island - you got to honour their history and traditions!

Our first tipple was taken within 100 yards of our hotel room at the Bowmore distillery - our first tasking was the latest addition to Bowmoor range and was described as light and smooth  The your server described it as a 'breakfast whisky'.  It could not disagree with her summary in any way!  Breakfast whisky would be my excuse, as the proverbial sun as no where near the proverbial yardarm!
